Squier Affinity Series Active Jazz Bass IL Mystic Sea Foam Green basse électrique

I have owned several squire basses over the years but never an active model before. I absolutely love this sea foam colour which is better in real life than the pictures suggest.
The 2 band EQ is fairly decent with a fair amount of boost and cut through the complete turn of the switch. However I note the bridge pick up is much closer to the bridge than my passive jazz bases. Consequently I find I have to cut the treble fully to get a mellower tone
I could solve this with flat wounds but I just don't get on with them and the fender strings supplied are great anyway.
Full bass boost can cause a bit of booming or distortion if not kept under control
Overall I would recommend this guitar for the price and playability. The string action was a little high on delivery out of the box, but easily lowered and the intonation was perfect.
The only thing that would set it this bass apart further for me would have been some white binding on the neck but who knows maybe the 2026 version?
