These days, a beat can be built using a mass of different methods. Maybe you prefer to paint with MIDI notes backed up by an extensive virtual drum library; maybe you like it old-school and mike up a real drum kit; or maybe your go-to drum machine was born back in the eighties. Whatever your method of choice, not all drum sounds are created equal, so having recorded your beat, it would be useful to be able to replace one or two drums with something far better. This is exactly what Steven Slate Audio Trigger 2 Platinum does. This smart software is based on attack transients so it's able to recognise a kick, snare, or tom tail sitting on different tracks so they can be removed and replaced with the superior drum sounds that the Trigger 2 comes with. Not only that, it's able to match up the strike velocity. Here, you're set up with 46 different snares, 33 kicks, and 8 sets with toms. Naturally, all of this is backed up by excellent sound, and can be built on by adding various expansion packs.
