Ibanez SRH500 Bass Workshop Dragon Eye Burst Flat

To add to my previous review with further experience of this bass....It's truly amazing and I can't put it down! Smooth as silk to play and the natural deep woody tone is very impressive. The single simple tone knob is very responsive and will take you from normal "bass no treble" to a cutting edge if you need it and every tone in between. Stunning looks and a definite head turner. Well done Ibanez and Bax.

I received my Ibanez SRH 500 DEF bass this week. Out of the box, a classy great looking bass and impressive. The finish and frets are perfect and half hour lowering the string action made it perfect. The great part is the recommended D'addario flatwound strings are already fitted to the bass on delivery which is a great saving. Sound - wise it has a really smooth woody tone, but I was concerned that volume was extremely low for an active bass. It seems that each string has it's own pickup adjustment for volume via four (or 5 on a 5 string) tiny Philips type screws on the back plate to balance out any differences. Some were high and some low. I turned all pots up to the high limit and this gave the bass life and more dynamics. Used with my Phil Jones amp for plying jazz and swing, this is a great bass at the best price.
