Meinl's Generation X series consists of state-of-the-art cymbals that have already won over many experimental, contemporary drummers. This signature cymbal set was developed in collaboration with Austrian drummer Thomas Lang. It consists of a 16-inch Synthetik Crash (GX-16SYC) and an 18-inch crash/ride (GX-18SC) and it also includes a free 14-inch Filter China.

Cymbal characteristics

The 16-inch Synthetik Crash is a refreshingly subtle cymbal that speaks quickly and then decays just as rapidly. A crash as fast as this one will feel right at home in many styles of electronic music or faster pop. In addition to this crash, the pack includes an 18-inch combination cymbal, the GX-18SC, which can be used in two ways. It can be as subtle as a ride, giving light accents without too much depth, and it can be as present as a crash without ever becoming brash or overstaying its welcome. The included 14-inch Filter China is effectively a miniature version of a regular china. It can sound trashy when it needs to, but the volume level is a lot more civilised and it has less sustain than conventional chinas.
