Informations
The metal version of a güiro is called a güira. It features a similar rough surface that you move a scraper across. Latin Percussion decided to innovate, and combined this functionality with a cowbell. This resulted in the LP Guira Cowbell, this particular model being the handheld version. To play it, you hold it in one hand, while using the other to move the included LP335 scraper along the rough surface. This produces a unique sound that sits somewhere between that of a cowbell and a guira. Of course, you can also play it as you would a regular cowbell.
